What is Journey to Jamaa?
Journey to Jamaa is a flexible, 45- to 90-minute, interactive, film-based worship service designed for your church. Your congregation will experience poverty through the eyes of two children from Uganda. This experience also provides a powerful opportunity for you, as the pastor, to bring a compelling biblical message about God’s heart for the poor with a chance for your church to respond through child sponsorship.
Journey to Jamaa includes:
• An award-winning, theatrical-quality film telling the story of two children who make an impossible journey—and a family that faces an impossible choice in the midst of crushing poverty. (Watch the film trailer.)
• Comprehensive, customizable FREE Planning and Event Kits, including:
- Onscreen graphics
- Pre-recorded event narration
- Suggested sermon topics
- Optional video sermon featuring Max Lucado
- Worship kit (PowerPoints and suggested song titles)
- Day-of-activity for children (preschool through 6th-grade)
- And more!
• An invitation to respond through child sponsorship— your congregation can help real-life children journey from poverty to hope. Register now!
